Type foundry House Industries have released their 62nd font catalogue in a range of eight different, beautifully litho-printed covers. Even better, the catalogue is free to order (and comes with three fonts that are free to download). I’m hoping to receive the fourth design…

I’m a little obsessed with the Arne Jacobsen ‘Egg’ chair. It takes pride of place in the living-room of my dreams.

1 & 2. Found via Japanese Trash.

These prints are from a personal project by designer and creative director Ian Coyle, who decided to use his 1950s letterpress and wooden type to print a thought every day for 73 consecutive days. The results are variously humorous, mundane, and inspiring. (I have “MAKE BETTER THINGS” saved onto my computer as a constant reminder. Them’s be good words to live by.) You can view the project in full here.

Identity design has been on my mind lately. These concrete business cards by Murmure are pretty badass.

I’m a huge fan of food photography, and my favourite exponent of the art is undoubtedly Stephanie Shih, creator of the blog Desserts for Breakfast. Where so many food photos are consistently light, bright, and airy, Shih’s images often make use of dark backgrounds and rustic wooden surfaces, to stunning effect. Her effortless styling and attention to detail make even the simplest ingredient shot a work of great beauty.
